Bass out of the cask has always been good for me, spent too much time in the Dolphin in Plymouth.

And as a West Yorkshire pint, Riverhead brewery in Marsdens March Haigh, makes your legs wobble but tastes good.

Jimmy, when it comes to lager, i have to agree with you on the Peroni and they produce a special Peroni, dark brown and gold label if my memory serves... ( which is unlikely ) the only thing i have found better is an Austrian lager called Gosser,
Does anyone know if you can buy Healys Rattler cloudy cyder up there, i'm going to visit their cider farm tomorrow and don't want to end up buying gallons of the stuff down here and carting it up north if i can by it up there, mmmmm, but i do have 2 x 25 litre water containers that are empty at the moment..

John Smiths Magnet (if it still exists - haven't seen any for a while!!) A few bottles of Dog (Newcastle Brown) - always a pleasure or REAL Cider (Scrumpy) - not the poncy pub stuff Peroni's good also I also agree with Bridcarper!!

There's a shop round the corner from me that sells healeys Cornish rattler. That stuff is lethal, but very nice. My choices are fosters gold in a bottle from a very cold fridge, deuchars IPA and Abbot is a good nightcap.

If im honest I can not name one ale as the best, as I like so many different types, and each can be judged on their own merits! I also have another hobby, which is brewing beer So I could be biased and say one of my own was the best lol
