Who manages to dislocate their thumb playing football? Ah yes that would be me! Technically its a subluxation of the thumb but it still hurts. Two weeks since I did it and it still hurts. Originally I was to have it wired up but the surgeon decided, just before surgery, to just splint it. Awkward to say the least.

I also suffered an injury of sorts playing basketball (and pretty embarrassing I must say). The ball had gone off the court and I bent down to pick it up and someone ran into the back of me sent me head first into the wall. I got knocked out and everyone had a good laugh :-(

I dislocated my little finger playing football and had ne end of problems with it. In the end I had the PIP joint fused and wired in a slightly bent position. It impacts on my life in a number of ways but in the greater scheme of things, it's a minor irritant. Now, had I been a concert pianist...

Yeah Antony, I was quite pleased when the surgeon told me that I wasn't having an operation. I do now realise how important the opposing digit is. It is now 2 weeks since I did it but the tendons or ligaments are all still tight. The swelling has gone though so it is on the way to recovery.

Went to the hospital Wednesday only to be told another 3 weeks in a splint. Annoyingly today the new ultralite lures I ordered have arrived and I can't use them yet.
