Next up, the incredible German duo...MODESELEKTOR! Quick note first - the bass on many of their tracks just won't come through on computer speakers or even some external computer speakers. There's a lot of really good high quality music available to stream on the net so makes sense to have some decent kit. I would highly HIGHLY recommend this arcam dac which makes a HUGE difference to the sound - it totally opens up the soundstage making everything clearer. I was amazed at the difference it made. It's a USB out and you can either plug headphones into it, or take the rca outs into an amp. For headphones, I can highly recommend these AKG K550's which have huge drivers for a set of cans. They're closed back so you don't get sound leakage (great for in the office so as not to annoy your colleagues) but still sound very open...and those drivers deliver some huge bass whilst remaining very balanced. At home I run the DAC into an Audiolab amp similar to this one but an older version picked up on ebay for a steal and it's a sweet performer. I run some small but powerful Dali Zensors which are great speakers for the money. They have great mid-range and yet still plenty of bass and top end. Can't fault them as they're great for acoustic music but cope just as well with rock, electronic etc. To add that extra bit of low end I attach a sub via the pre-out from the amp and adjust as necessary just so it works for the really low end. I would highly recommend a hand built british sub like the BK Gemini or better still, the BK XLS200 - you won't hear a bad thing said about the quality of these subs on any AV forum. And now for some sweet sounds courtesy of Modeselektor. This tune isn't by them originally, but this is their remix and it's huuuuuge! When that bassline kicks in....sweet! Headhunter - Prototype (Modeselektor RMX)This next track is mental, heavy heavy bassline, a true stomper... Modeselektor - Evil TwinAnother huge classic from the evil twin ep... Modeselektor - German ClapAnd finally, a full 80 minute DJ set courtesy of the Boiler Room. Check out their YouTube channel for lots of amazing high quality sets from DJ's and artists alike. This is a huge set...these guys remix everything live, huge talents! Modeselektor 80 Minute Boiler Room Mix

I have been known to listen to bass line and would even go as far to say that i like it, but it isn't a patch on trance in my opinion

Well each to there own that trance too fast and head boppy to me, I like to DANCE and party not jump up and down mindlessly lol I been to several clubs with TRANCE music and happy crack core or whatever it is I last 5 mins either end up knocking idiots out throwing themselves at me or I get internal bleeding of the brain with the noise bursting all my vessels , It's usually hippys and students that listen to that sort a music lol from my experience :-)

Today I'm on a bit of a Math Rock tip... Math rock is a rhythmically complex, often guitar-based, style of experimental rock and indie rock[1] music that emerged in the late 1990s, influenced by progressive rock bands like King Crimson and 20th century minimalist composers such as Steve Reich. It is characterized by complex, atypical rhythmic structures (including irregular stopping and starting), counterpoint, odd time signatures, angular melodies, and extended, often dissonant, chords. From the excellent 'Halcyon Digest' LP by Deerhunter...Live performance...this first track is my favourite off the album and simply sublime... Deerhunter - He Would have LaughedDeerhunter - Helicopter

You a proper full on Northern Soul dancer then?, I watched a couple of Documentaries on BBC 3 or 4, very impressive with the 60" bell bottoms. I can remember trying a swallow dive (or whatever it was called) at school and left half my face on the playground.
