As ive just got back into fishing i thought id have a go in a couple of friendly matches, but havent got a clue what tactics tackle or bait to use. i dont expect to win or even come close but i dont want to blank because of not knowing what methods catch and what dont.
anyone got any advice for a newbie to match fishing

My advice would be to get yourself on the YF social matches on here Steven. We are a friendly bunch and always willing to help. There are no pools to worry about and the banter flies thick and fast on most days. Have a look at the social matches section on here and you'll see what I mean. Tyke

Hi,
As per Tyke. I joined in with the lads this time last year - learnt a lot, had a few laughs and caught one or two -

Thanks Tyke and Tetley, i was looking joining in them at somepoint, what kind of tackle should i be using? when im out on my own i usually just use method feeder with a bit of meat or corn, but id have thought matches were more float orientated. am i right?
