Hi tclay Im really jealous of you going to w/acres its been a regular thing for me for a few years but having our second child just a few weeks ago we decided to miss it this year and go back next year instead,I see you asked about sycamore its one of my favorite ponds fairly small and its best to get there early morning because it soon fills up its a great pond for surface fishing i have always had more success from the far side farthest from the cafe,if you use a controller float there is a good peg with a good 40 yard chuck to an aerator that sits between the two islands lots of big carp can be caught there of freelined floaters are good three of four pegs along where the island is only 10 to 15 yards away try start against the island and work the fish away from the snags by bringing your feebies back a foot or so every few minutes,Ive found i can have them feeding under the rod tip withing 15 to 20 minutes.Pollawyn can be very good but takes a lot more work to get the best results meat is a good bait on here the lake has so must variety it all depends on your peg what your attack should be i ve caught on pole, floaters, feeder and straight lead and there are some v/big tench in it.Trelawney is a real bagging lake stuffed with carp from 4 to 6lb you can catch from any peg at any distance and any depth feed close in either side of the platform and you can alternate left side and right side and catch solid for hours on end without spooking the fish hard 6 or 8mm whateacres bagging pellets banded and feed thenext size down works great or corn and feed 10 freebies every time you catch put a good handfull in each side to get them going you will know when they move in cos you will see there tails lol, python and jennys are great mixed bagging ponds python has lots of smaller tench f1s and brown goldfish. Jennys has tonnes of smaller carp plus some very big ghosties and lots of decent tench plus you can catch bream and roach for fun at only 5m on here pellet feeder is good on jennys but again use a decent size bagging pellet to put off the smaller bream. All the other lakes are good but the ones Ive mentioned are my personal favorites and give me more than enough to go at in one week,If you fancy it the off site lake at bolingey is said to be out of this world but Ive not tried it,finally I have to recommend senor dicks the mexican restaraunt in Newquay its a great place to eat but book cos it gets v busy.hope this all helps (you lucky sod).

The first thing you have to do when you get there is book on Bolingey....it's phenomenal, it will completely spoil you and make the rest of the lakes on the complex completely irrelevant!
But that's just my opinion.....
I've been twice to Whiteacres but unfortunately both times I've been we were hit with horrendous weather (last year when we had the floods!).....
The lakes do get really busy, I found that Python was a great lake to get away from the crowds and get plenty of bites....you'll be fine if you're a match angler, very well catered for.....
The kids loved it, but I won't be going back.....I wouldn't look anywhere but Anglers Paradise in Devon for a UK fishing holiday....now that is amazing!
The weather has put me off the UK for holidays.....so it's shore fishing in Lanzarote for two weeks from next Thursday ;D

another place worth a visit while u r down there is Gwinear, they run open matches at least twice a week and although it is very peggy the sections are pretty fair and some really good weights can be had.
as for W/A, the place is just set up for fishing, matches are well organised if u wanna take part in them and the pleasure fishing is out of this world. if u r gunna take part in the matches they run have a look at the news-reels.com website and that'll give u a bit of info on what lakes are throwing up what sort of weights. Rovers match is worth booking on if u fancy a bit of fun, just have a good look round the map and pick a lake that'll suit your methods but remember the rules!
have fun, i'll be back from there when u set off and counting down 'til next year!

Hi
I am off to White Acres mid august any suggestions on what tackle i should take all be it limited as the car will be tight for room. Is there anything you can hire down there, that could be left behind.
Thanks J
