Been to Lodge Farm today on Signal Pond (Peg 19) and as soon as the bait hit the water it was molested by bloody Gudgeon, be it Feeder, Pole or Waggler. Seven guys on the pond and all were plagued by them, I had one Dace and one other guy had a small Roach.
Just to rub salt into the wound 2 young lads came opposite, they arrived on bikes with no tackle except a rod each, a pint of maggots, a bag of bits and their Dad dropped off a couple of chairs shortly after they arrived. They started baggin' up on Gudgeon (using Waggler) but within 30mins one got a nice Carp, followed by a couple of nice Roach each, they both seemed to have hit the sweet spot ;D
