I am planning on a holiday near Berwick-upon-tweed next year and would like to do some fishing. Can anyone give me any information about this area.
I do both game and course type fishing so any information would be helpful.
thanks blp

Thanks for information I had a look at the web sight
Looks good and could be near our Friends holiday home we will be using. I often have an evening session after going to have a look at local interests and attractions when on holiday.

Go and feed the Seals in Eyemouth harbour if you want something to do, theres a woman with a little fish stall on the harbour side sells mackerel to feed them. Theyre well fat!!!

You could do some exploratory fishing at Horncliffe and Coldstream (Horncliffe used to be free fishing on the English and Scottish banks, Coldstream on the Scottish, also free on the tiny river Leet upstream to the town from where it joins the Tweed) I don't know of anyone who has fished the river (for coarse fish) in the last 20 years but prior to when the fishing died (killed would be more appropriate) both venues used to produce massive nets of BIG roach and dace. Best fished with a bit of extra water and you may have to wade on the Scottish side at Horncliffe, which is tidal. The Tweed at Coldstream still has some good grayling fishing. Also Yetham (?spelling) Loch used to have some really big perch.

I used to stay in a place called duns which is about 15 miles in and north a bit of berwick. There is some good fishing to be had on the whitadder in various places which involve a bit of walking but for the scenary and peace and quite and some reasonable fishing its worth it. There are at 2 big lochs/resiviors i used to fish one is the whitadder resivoir and the other one is near longformacus which i forget the name of. The resivours tend to let there water out on a wednesday night thursday morning so the rivers attached tend to rise a couple of feet and colour slightly. Fly's not to be without: Greenwells glory, hares rib ear copper head, bloody butcher and a black spider. Any more info you need just drop me a line and i'll go into more detail. unfortunatley i dont know any thing about coarse fishing
