Nice one buddy, seeing as you've been loads of times................. what are the best things about linear, and what are the worst ?
I've always fancied going but have heard mixed reports, obviously the fish are quality.

Just be aware some of the lakes are closed. OXLEASE LAKE Press Release RICHWORTH LINEAR FISHERIES OXFORD Oxlease Lake
Since the July floods Oxlease Lake has fished very poorly and has shown no sign of improving. Over the last month anglers have been advised to fish the other waters at the Linear Complex until Oxlease improved in form. Unfortunately that improvement still hasn’t occurred.
Accordingly Richworth Linear Fisheries regret to announce that as of Wednesday October 24th 2007 Oxlease Lake will be closed until the spring of 2008.
The fishery has within the last week recruited the services of fish health expert Bernice Brewster to take a look at the lake. Bernice has concluded that the lakes’ population may have been reduced by as much as 75% from the pre flood level. This was brought on by a combination of fish movement out of the lake during the floods, plus a heavy loading of a common parasite known as Argulus and a possible bacterial infection triggered by the flood conditions leading to an unknown number of mortalities.
The decision has therefore been taken to close the lake, thus protecting the remaining fish from further stress and allowing them to recover naturally. No further stockings will take place on the water until summer 2008 at the earliest and the decision has been made to stock the fish that were destined for Oxlease into both of the Brasenose Lakes before Christmas. However significant capacity remains in the £125,000 restocking programme announced by the company after the July floods, and this will be applied to bring Oxlease back to the previous standard when conditions allow.
Chris Blunt, Fishery Officer said: ‘We’ve not taken this decision lightly but feel that the health of the remaining stock must take priority. The Directors are also concerned that Anglers should get value for money for their day tickets and not fish a lake below our normal standard even if this results in lost revenue for the company. We’re very proud of our hard earned reputation and want to keep it. We can only apologise for any disappointment to anglers looking forward to fishing Oxlease during the coming months but hope they enjoy fishing our other waters equally as much - thankfully those other waters have come through the floods and are doing well.’
Oxlease will not be reopened until it has been test fished in the spring and the company is happy with the results. These results, and confirmation of our restocking programme for the lake, will be shown on our web site and through the angling press at that time.

The good thing is the fish, the bad thing is the place gets rammed in summer. If you are going its better to go mid week and try Brasnose 1, forget St John or Hardwick.
