Hi All,
I am going on holiday in Cornwall in a couple of weeks.
Does anybody have any recommendations on places to fish?
We are staying near to St Ives, and I’m looking for both coarse and sea fishing spots.
Ta!

Anywhere for sea fishing, try float fishing off some of the small piers. ;D ;D

You can only fish White Acres if you're a resident now ( unless it's changed this year ). unless you fish the open match on Sat.

dont know any coarse waters down there ,but reckon finny 's got the best idea. try mulleting of the pier, mind its tidal from what i can remember, bread mashed up is fine for attracting them, chub gear is ok, if you fancy a bit more try getting some green crab, doesnt need to be soft, use heavy barbel/carp gear, and ledger down in any gullies etc you can find for wrasse, go very well,or spin for mackerel and garfish during the day, or use rubber eels at nightfall for pollack, 8/10lb line, carp rod fine for them.have a look on google before you go to see if there are any little heads or points you can walk to,bound to be a bit of tide off them, good luck and tight lines

Best chance of a mullet is in St Ives harbour on a night time when the tide is in. Fish a sliver of fresh mackerel about the size of a big maggot on carp waggler gear. Get ready though cos they go like stink and there's loads of mooring ropes to avoid. Nearest coarse venues to St Ives are Bussow Res. and Nance Lakes. Bussow for big carp bream and skimmers, head out of town on the back road and make as if you're going to Hayle. As you drive round the winding road you'll see Bussow down to your right. For Nance Lakes take the same route as if to Hayle. pass Bussow and round loads of bends. Pass a sign saying SLOW HORSES and turn left onto the old coachroad. This road takes you to Hayle roundabout and Nance is on the left after about 3 miles. There should be a wooden cart outside on the grass indicating a farm shop. Full of carp, skimmers, tench and roach etc. 3 lakes to choose from. There's also St Erth Fishery and Bills pool at St Erth on the way to Penzance. Best bet for any of these is to go into St Erth to the village shop . They will give better directions than I could and you also buy day tickets there. 2 brilliant lakes at Gwinear on the way to Newquay if you like mega baggin. There are also other venues closer than Newquay but they're really complicated to get to. Woonsmith is one but a pig to find and very deep. It has got BIG everything in it , but you need local help to find it . Hope this helps!
