Hi all, my names Phil and I’m here as a result of my son (7) wanting to fish. For a while now I’ve been reading and watching anything ‘fishing’ to learn everything I can about it. Most people who fish seem to have had a mentor to show them the ropes so I wanted to be that for the boy. I’ve got some equipment so hopefully tomorrow we’ll be catching our first ever fish! I think everywhere will be busy after lockdown restrictions have been lifted slightly so I’m going to try kingforth lane fisheries, burcroft at conisbrough or roundwood ponds.
Steep learning curve ahead so wish me luck!
Phil

Thank you, we live in Bramley, Rotherham next to the M18 so chapeltown is not too far. I’ll have a look at the link. If I have any questions after this weekend no doubt I’ll be messaging you!
Thanks again

Good luck mate, sure you and the lad will enjoy it! Warden (Phil) will put you right, just catch a few silver fish to get you going then move on the bigger ones. Westwood Lake near Chapletown is full of fish, even Phil catches there.
