Went there today with Warden, got there around 9 and purchased my fishery pellets.. , I fished peg 11 or 12 with phil one peg before me, weather was perfect gentle breeze and a bit of warming sun, A brief run down for those who haven't seen the place, Every peg bar the end pegs hove a reach of 12 - 13 m to the central island, depths down the track are around the 5 ft mark but i am told it shallows off slightly towards the far end of the lake, far and near shelves are around the 2 and a half feet mark and the far shelf drops rapidly . As for my day, started on the far shelf and caught 3 stockie carp between a pound and pound and a half very quickly, decided to move a little closer in so fished the bottom of the far shelf for a bit, got a skimmer and about 7 more stockies, started feeding a 3 +2 line and went onto that, started with a small carp about a pound then got a proper bream Then another and a couple more smaller carp and then 2 more bream, then i had to take some pics of the zoo creature phil managed to bank.. the pics were taken on my phone and they don't to the fish justice, i would have put it at 15 lb, it was fatter than Sq.... erm.. a fat thing.. phil had to sit on his barrow to hold it.. After that, i got a couple more bream then a better carp over 5 lbs , a crucian, another bream then another carp over 4 lbs, overall, i had 14 smaller carp going up to 2 pounds, 2 bigger carp , a few ide, couple of crucians, a skimmer and 8 bream between the 2 and 3 and a half pound mark.. ..all Rich, all the proper bream fell to single white maggot on a size 22 hook and 0.06 hooklength. Enjoyed today, quite pleasant in the sun today spoke to the owner when we paid he told us what baits were catching which were basically Bread sweetcorn and maggot Mick fished sweetcorn which as expected took a short while to start catching,i fished maggot which caught straight away but perhaps after a while the stamp of fish I was catching was not as good as Micks,or as often after a while,I persevered with the maggot attack and got rewarded with that lump from down the track which as Mick said was a right donkey although it came in without to much trouble
