Hello, I was a member here a few years ago and have returned. I prefer fishing match tactics/methods but only fish for pleasure nowadays (health issues). On local venues , my traveling days are long gone.

This time of year its always quiet. I guess that most members hibernate over winter! The social match section gets busy around match time if youre interested in some very friendly matches and the river sections are often busy when theyre fishable. Post some threads and see if you can draw a few of the lads out lol! Some members also post on the Facebook page too if youre on that. Just search for Yorkshire Fishing and ask to join the group if youre interested. Rich

Welcome Rayner.
It's quiet on here lately but there's still a few knocking about. Where do you fish?

I decided to stop all matches a couple of years ago crofton blade because of health issues, I used to enjoy the day but took too much time to recover.
tincatim I fish around south Sheffield giving Sheff 6 a wide birth. Places like Aston, Side farm and Carter hall. I do occasionally fish the Sheffield canal.
Don't come across ladies on the bank much are they in the photos suggsy.

Youd enjoy our matches, no money prizes involved and some good lads too. Usually 15- 20 lads. More like a days fishing with a weigh in at the end! Nothing too strenuous for us. And we usually have a sneaky practise or two before the day. Aston will be on venue list.

That makes two of us Paul, that miserable bloke who seems to be always chewing a wasp might not be in charge now if that had happened (not that I wish anyone loses their job ) and Giggsy might get a chance !!!!

It's a venue that I avoid because most of the pegs have ramps down to the platforms. I only fish Aston Springs. Apart from anything else I should not even be talking of match fishing and if you talk me into it I'll never forgive you.
