My lad reported anglers fishing out of season today on the Don. Tweeted them and sent them a photo. They reply that you must contact them by phone on the hot line. Why, when he's given them all the information they need? Will they do anything? I don't think so.

Waste of time Rich. I have commented on this before, relating to an incident I reported to them a few years ago now. Regarding a group of 'Travellers' complete with truck full of s on the Newark Dyke. It seems as if it is a British angler with no foreign background they are easy meat . PC gone Mad !!!!!!!!

Yes but on the Don't its not EAs or travellers etc- its just chavs, scrotes and even ordinary anglers who think that if its free fishing, then its all year round fishing. And who is going to stop them?

2015 list (January)I don't think its a case of apathy at all they (due to cut backs)have I believe 2 officers covering the whole of Yorkshire what exactly do we expect?you can only judge them by the number of prosecutions they make with such restricted resources because there will always be far more things they cannot do under the current set up

So not a single prosecution for close season fishing. The two for Yorkshire weren't exactly catching lots were they. I found this chap today fishing the Don, no license either. Posted by Crofton Blade (I couldn't get it to logout of my lad's sign in.)

they were January's prosecutions,I did see a breakdown of the regions for license checks and the numbers of anglers found without them, may surprise some that South Yorkshire is one of the lowest offending areas around.will try and find it. This is not what I was talking about but covers 3 months last March April May 157 prosecutions with 18 for fishing out of season EA prosecutions for 3 months last year

Let's hope they catch the bloke I've just reported to the hotline for fishing on the Don. Looked pretty British to me as well. Not holding my breath though.
