Packing for France as I type for a mid afternoon departure, then steady run down to Ashford for an overnight stop for the early ferry in the morning out of Dover. So much easier than travelling all night on a Friday with no sleep till Saturday night, and the "Wizzard" is demanding a visit to Frankie & Benny's this eve in Ashford for a burger tower with the works ! Hope he knows its going to cost more than £3 !!! Fishing same place as May and its not producing according to facebook updates, however being tough northerners used to fishing gravel pits in Yorkshire that hold no carp anyway so this shouldn't bother us too much. Report in a week or so......

Good luck... We've booked in for a night before the crossing too, but further on than Ashford and wasn't a lot of money but should at least get a decent nights kip before hitting the bivvies for a few days.. Look forward to your report as usual.. Remember to set say nav NOT to avoid tolls on way back LOL.......

Wonder if the Wizzard has got them locked up somehow, (there were the odd whispers of some strange substances in use "back in the day"), or maybe they got hijacked by illegals and taken to the DSS offices in Dover for processing? As far as Elmo and I are concerned we are on schedule for our departure after the Carpvale Doubles weekend. We are doing a similar "drive down early and overnight outside the port" idea, (reports on our trip later). But at the moment Elmo has had his attention caught by a vacancy on a certain big Carp water over the Christmas / New Year period, and he really fancies his chances now he is "off the leash" as it were. Could this be the year of the new PB Catfish, Sturgeon, and Carp? I hope so for Elmos sake. Note, two out of three are already in the bag now, so there is a fair chance of him cracking the lot. BOF

Wonder if he's been bag banged up in immigration... He does look a bit eastern 2 weeks and it will be my first trip, albeit a bit of a short one, costing me fortunes on bits of new kit though....

Right...... Not a right lot to say about this last trip in terms of carp ! To say it was a struggle is saying it lightly, the "wizzard" never had a bite despite catching 20, 30, 40, and 50 pound plus carp on his last trip to this lake in May. I spent an age creating a fishable meter square gap in a big weed bed tucked away in a corner, then spent a couple of days introducing bait in to this new hole in the carps environment. After a couple of days letting the carp get used to it I cast in and 24 hours later got a pick up which I then promptly lost ! And that was it, a right pair of blankers !!! Roll on next year when we are on the pit next door, and by the way - the frankie & benny's in Ashford was total tripe compared to our northern versions !
