hi folks, Just about to retire, so decided to salvage my gear out the loft. Into shooting currently but did a bit of pleasure fishing maybe 18-20 years ago, but surfing the net, looking at websites, utube etc., I was amazed at the changes. Seems like everybody's chasing carp now, with all the venues catering for them. Sign o the times I reckon, what with the silver fish dwindling. But, go with the flow eh? It looks like I'll have to upgrade my gear Reckon me plastics gonna get a battering. My better half loves doing both shooting and fishing, so that's a bonus but- all stuff that I buy is usually X two Anyway thanks for reading this and hope to get a few tips and short cuts off you knowledgeable lot. Cheers guys. Alan.

Welcome to the site mate. As you say, fishings really changed since 20 years ago especially the stillwaters. Rivers are about the same except more barbel around these days (or more anglers targetting them) . Where are you based?

I live North Hull bud. We're members of Humberside Shooting Ground, Catwick Rd. Brandesburton, right opposite Foss hill. They cater for a few different sports and hobbies, so might try the fishing at weekend. Day tickets available, closed Mondays though.
