Prefer it on a big low at this time of year, fishing the rocks and weed at the southern end or Knipe Point at the northern end.
Depending on the time of year and conditions there are Cod, Bass, Flatfish, Whiting/Coalies and Wrasse that I know of.
The South end is a nice spot. Even if the fish don't turn up you get Peregrines hunting sea birds - pretty spectacular to watch.
Chest waders are useful but make special note of the tides, it is a long slow slope and the water comes in at some pace. Fish it down and then keep a keen eye on the water as it turns.
