Well as the title says I am wondering about light rock fishing or ultra light sea fishing, can it be done in the humber off the pier or the dock walls? what gear would I need etc?
Thanks, Gaz

Thanks, Gaz When I fished the groyne at the docks in Goodwick in south wales I used my carp gear with a heavier than usual lead and a size 6 hook baited with black lug had a great few hours catching Pollock the line was 10lb breaking strain if I remember correctly good luck best regards Malc.

Hi mate, I do quite a bit of sea fishing, in fact we're going to the East Coast this weekend..
Are you wanting to spin/plug or bait fish?
If you want to spin then a heavy ish freshwater rod will do fine. I use an 11' Masterline pike rod for spinning. The lures tend to be pretty big. I use a braid of 20lb plus wire trace, which I find spot on.
Bait fishing you'd need a sea rod ideally, as a good size lead to use would be 4, 5, 6oz; so the rod needs a bit of a backbone to it. I use a mono line for these, 25-30lb with a 50-60lb shockleader.
It all depends what your after really. Let us know if you have any more questions mate.
Joe

Can always give it a go mate, but it could be a bit coloured for lure fishing, I reckon.

I lure fish in the river hull and that is as coloured as the humber sometimes so if I scent my lures with my secret oily lure glug and work them slowly when the tide is still I rekon it might just work. Gaz
