But as for benefits the way I would like to see it done is based on what you have paid in ie if you have never worked you get the minimum payment/ none if you have worked all your life and through no fault of your own end up on them then you get a higher band this way people who have worked don't get classed as someone who hasn't bothered and every 6 month your on the dole you lose some of your benefit so there is a insenstive to get back into work as quickly as possible But the jobcentres do have to play there part cos they don't help people how they should and there system isn't very easy to use and most of the jobs are temp or nowhere near where you live I remember once been in jobcentre put in plumber 5 mile from Rotherham and the first page was full of jobs in London hows that helping The hole benefit system needs s ing and a new one put in place Gaz your spot on with that mate This is what this thread is all about Freindly debate about our country and rubbings of it Please keep the good comments like this coming

Spooner if that's the case then the system is failing you,,,, But your a roofer ain't you Average roofer is £80 a day £400 a week,,,,, With all the wind and rain about there's no shortage in roof repairs lad,,, You need to ring and hassle every man and his dog under the sun offer your self for £260 a week You will be £4 a week better off then,,, Jesus what's minimum wage these days ?? I'm outa touch with that,,, I thought a 21 year old be getting more than 250 a week ??

What is like to see is something similar to what gaz said
But with a difference slightly
A system where you only get out what you pay in,,,
So if you work 2 year then that 2 years pay in is all you get back and a maximum of 6 months whatever comes first
But if you have a job sorry spooner gunna use you as an example
But if you have a job offer say like spooner of £230 a week and you need £256 a week to survive then the government should introduce a top up scheme where they too your money upto the basic minimum allowance,,,
So spooner would get £26 on top of his wage weekly untill a pay rise or he locates a better job
This would slash the country's benefit system in half and half again ,,,,,
Company's would grow becaus peopel would be working,,,,,
What the government should not do is give free handouts to every man and his cat,,,

The government do do a top up scheme so that if your earning less then what you need to survive theyll pay the difference i was getting it when i was an apprentice and had a rented house to pay for

Great attitude to have, why not stop fishing, stop paying internet, stop smoking , no need to earn £256 then , could always do a part time job and not rely on benefits so much.

Even so brummie i would still have to clear 256 to be better off ..... Why would i take a part time job that pays £120 a week to be down £106 The £120 would go strate into chield care so i could work would rather stay at home with my lad and be better of by £120 Bean over this all day with an adviser for the JOBCENTER They even said to me stay on benafits untill september when your partner Qwalifys She even told me to apply for jobs i know i wont get just so it looks like im looking for work WORK THAT ONE OUT ?
