I need to know, I have always followed the EA guidelines a jnr angler on a jnr licence upto and including 17yr olds can only use 1 rod,and I have always found this on the old paper licences, right pulled a 15yr old kid, with 3 rods, when I informed him he can have 1 rod, he told me the EA bailiff said he could use 2, and he had phoned and they told him he also could use 3. what is the answer the EA answer please. bas.......................

A: An angler aged 12 to16 inclusive is required to hold a junior rod licence. As with full licences it allows the angler to fish with two rods only. If a junior angler, or indeed any angler, wishes to fish with three or four rods he or she would first have to purchase a second rod licence.

I think that this session has been very constructive and useful and we can all look forward to the next one. The most emotive issue seems to have been around the rod licences. I can see why the EA issues licences as they do but it does not make it fair with the river anglers paying for 12 months and only getting 9 months and the carp anglers paying for licences for 4 rods and only using 3.
