Burgh-le-Marsh on the main road into Skeggy.Accomodation, cafe and tackle shop.I think there's one at a place called Hogthorpe.Mill lakes or something like that. The drains used to be good out Wainfleet way.Tackle shop called Storrs in Wainfleet, they should be able to put you right.

Hi Ryan. Herons mead is predominantly carp and tench, and lots of them too. Most of the carp are in the 2lb to 6lb weight, but bigger fish are present, but not often landed due to the amount of Lilies in the lake. The summer months will probably see over two thirds of the lake covered in lilies which inevitably means losing the odd fish or two.To minimize this i fish a bit heavier than normal. The majority of tench are between half a pound to 3lb. There is also some big perch in there. Regards. Russ.

Due to the amount of lilies in the lake, pole is the best option. As for baits, just about anything you put on the hook will get results. But try alternating between pellet and meat over loose fed hemp and castors.Sweetcorn will sort out the better tench.

Try the lakes at Addlethorpe. Top horseshoe lake. Big fish, Lots of fun apart from getting ragged all over by possible the biggest fish I have ever had on. Spent the better part of 15mins being careful and then snap. You can guess how gutted I was. Me and that fish have a date later in the summer.

Are there any venues around this area which hold some specimen Bream and Tench that I can fish on day-ticket. Cheers

Hearons Mead is a good lake to fish, I did it last year and took out arounf 50lb of carp. Im going back again in October.
Also lakeside has a good pond, with a few carp over 10lb, and there are a few bigger ones in the lake they do the water sking on. I found corn was very good bait at Lakeside.
