Here's a small review from anglerstimes.co.uk, not sure how upto date it is though. Gatehouse Lake (Cranswick): This is another pond which has only opened in recent years and can easily be missed, but it is also another cracking place to fish. Set at the back of the Hutton Cranswick football pitches, this pond has many different fish on offer. There are plenty of carp which are often caught on pellet while chub, tench, bream, dace, rudd and bleak are just some of the other fish on offer. The lake has been fishing well of late with some good bags on an evening. Fishing is £5 and tickets are available from both the village shops. If you start fishing before the shops open you can pay the bailiff on the bankside. The shops close at 7pm and 9pm. Gatehouse Lake is open from dawn til dusk and U14s are only allowed with an adult. Bans are no boilies, cat meat, dog meat, tiger nuts and no fixed rigs. Barbless hooks only with a maximum size 10. Groundbait in moderation, nets must be dipped and allowed to drain and must be carp friendly. One rod per ticket.
Has anybody fished here recently or have any more info on the place ? i fish at this pond sometimes and used to catch bags of nice size carp on just a worm and float, it doesn't seem to be fishing well for me within the last 2 years and Ive almost given up on the place
i had a look a couple of years ago one weekend, everyone was just packing up and i got the impression it was match style clicky type of place where everyone knows everyone ! could be wrong no idea what fish are in there though !
