Ahhhhh France..... What a place, has more carp than chavs in England. The permatations are truly endless for carp fishing in France, from pioneering new waters, camped on inland seas, rivers with carp to astronomical sizes and many many commercial venues. I myself prefer commercial carp venues for a variety of reasons... I generally use "Angling lines holidays", and have found them brilliant. They have a vast choice of venues to suit all styles and abilities, are very proffesional and will send you their brochure which contains a 3 hour dvd of all their waters. On their books I have fished "Roseau" small lake, which is an exclusive book for you and your party, which means the lake is all yours. There is also a bar and restaurant on site. Between us we had mirrors and commons up to "lucky Phil's" 48lb mirror. I have also fished "Lac du Val" twice. This is a cracking little water of about 5 acres with doubles up to 53lb+. Food package available, and the English owners are terrific. I prefer the food package lakes because I hate wasting fishing time pratting about cooking, and there's more room in the car without food boxes, gas bottles etc etc . www.anglinglines.comLac du val - fat Italian, with slim attractive angler

Which is which ?........ Many years ago during a carp society "fish in" a number of attractive young ladies in attendance had to vote on which angler was the best caster, best with catapult etc etc. I won two awards - " most sexy" and "master baiter"

Anyone fished "Les Quis" ? Organised trips type place.... I went in 1999 had a great trip with mirrors to 30+ and a cracking common of just under 39lb. No pics available I'm afraid [ pre digital and a dead scanner ] About £500 - £600 + food + beer + ordered bait, but a lot of big carp staggered over three lakes. And a summer time bonus of friendly french girls swimming in your peg !

A mate of mine went, had to share a swim, and share a rowing boat as apparently you need one to bait and land fish. Not my sort of place.....

Here's another Lac du Val fish.......42lb +. Its length was incredible, as its nose touched the landing net spreader block its tail was still hanging out of the 42" net itself.

Might try and get booked for there in Febuary if i can Does not open till April...... And from what I understand virtually all of 2008 is booked up already. Check with angling lines for availability....... Myself and the "Wheldrake wizzard" will be fishing elsewhere in France next year, but are about to re-book for Lac du val for 2009. Anyone fancy making one in with us ? Du Val takes 5 anglers max, so there will be 3 spare places [ ideally two ]. Looking to go about June time, and please no rotten toy boats.....
