Its Mike's dog, Phil. You remember him- the big bulldog that tried to overpower that bloke who had the burger when you were fishing at New Biggin. I'd only bring him for a walk round if I came as he wouldn't sit quietly for a long time. He'd overpower anyone for a bit of snap - much like myself Keep your luncheon meat in easy reaching distance

Just to clarify the duck comment - and to get the laughter out of the way , I continued my appalling record this season of hooking ducks .Ducks were an absolute pain today. Little blighter dived down as my caster hook bait hit the water ( fishing shallow was top method today !!) anyhow Mother duck tried to rip my face off whilst I tried to gently release its offspring - was saved by Phils Magic long disgorger and duckling released unharmed but wiser - gave me a wide berth for rest of session . Phil has clarified that if I catch any in match , I can't weigh them in!!! Otherwise a pleasant day with a mixture of silvers and ( sorry Carp ). Fish were just coming on strong as we finished at about 4 pm.

right came through here on Monday (I think) to contact the fishery over the match, Fished for about 3 hours and it was fish a chuck catching carp down the side of the reeds on any bait I put in front of them mostly 2/3lb stockies with the odd larger (not much)tbh not a lot else to say it was a typical commie pleasure session, Today was much better as I had fished a match the evening before (don,t ask)my rigs were a right mess I threw a method feeder out at about 15M while I sorted them out had a couple of pull rounds both Bream between 3-4 lbs the margin line was dead, was getting lots of bites on the deck at 6/8M but were mainly small fish it is deep in some of the pegs had 7 foot in mine 5 foot in the edge the bottom was fizzing Gary and Ian started catch up in the water so I tried it with pellet and to my surprise (as I was using a 8mm banded pellet) I started to catch just beneath the surface had 3/4 more big Bream a couple of Tench and a lot of Ide/Perch as I was packing up Ian and Gary were starting to get Carp although I did not catch as well today enjoyed it as other options opened up if the Carp are not feeding straight away.

Not really i find the most realistic sound of bait falling through the water is bait falling through the water only slap if I think I may have put to much bait in,caught a couple of Bream up in the water but no Carp but there again did not catch any on the deck either,

Do we reckon it's more pellet, corn, meat than hemp caster and maggot then chaps? is there a lot of bits that will plague you on smaller baits, cheers adam

Down middle with mag/ pellet, start on bottom then try shallow. Feed the edge and fish paste or big baits right in the side, like 6 inches out, almost under your feet. Especially in the last hour. Lot of matches won on there doing that.
