Hi, I notice this dangerous stuff on or near the banks of the River Calder, near Dewsbury and down to Horbury in West Yorks. Checked the local council websites, nothing there, link or phone that you could use to report this. Any Ideas who to report this to and how?

I've noticed a lot on and around the Dearne in Barnsley. If anyone lives in Barnsley have a look across from Wickes on Wakefield Road, giant isn't the right word. Also there's loads down towards Asda on the right.

Lots on the Calder down towards Wakey. I think Mirfield AC cut a lot down around Dewsbury for the Riverfest match held recently as there's usually lots up there. I'm not sure anyone would do anything even if it was reported to be honest, they are more likely to section it off and stop us fishing near it- it's cheaper that way!

The amount of times I've touched this stuff just thinking it was nothing! Now I've read Wikipedia I'll not be going anywhere near it! Nasty stuff.

There's an app you can download which enables you to send a photograph and uses your phones GPS to give an accurate location of any plants you are reporting. There's no promise to do anything about it at this time but if anglers start to use it more widely, it will give a pretty good picture of the spread of this dangerous invasive species: planttracker.org.uk/WARNING!!! At this time of year the Giant Hogweed towers above everything else except: *Under trees where the lack of light delays its growth; *Where it has been previously cut/mown and the secondary growth is now appearing.
