Booked a week on the Costa del Sol got the back end of summer. Anyone fished around this area? Usually take my John Wilson travel rod and a few lures whenever I go away - just wondered if anyone has any info to share. The way I see it though is even if I'm not catching I leave the missus on the sunbeds for a few hours and I get some peace and quiet (and a few beers in my rucksack! ).

yes I have fished Benalmadena marina outer wall many a time in the past I had 1 small conger about 2-3 lb and lots of small fish that I wanted to put back but the Spanish kept them to eat I used some little worms I got from a small shop but that was about 8 years ago we also fished in the marina and court mullet until had a gun pointed at us as there was no fishing allowed in the marina but they was ok about it and had fun they just wanted to make a point also went out on a boat from the marina cost a lot but my dad had a really nice tuna I blanked but was a great day dolphins kept us amused so had great pictures from the day and we all had fresh tuna for dinner

Thanks for the info mate. The boat trip sounds like the better option - don't wanna get shot! Love to hook into a tuna, bet it's great fun. The lads running a boat trip in Sharm a few years ago caught one - fantastic species when you see them up close aren't they.
