A high number of fish have died, these are all carp, the authorities have been notified and the pond is closed.
We have also closed Knotford and Sandwath purely as a precaution.

Good decision Leeds. Makes sense to protect your other fisheries.

Word on the Barnsley streets kids is that there's a few waters in Doncaster that have contracted KHV, is this correct?

Anglers need to be aware of the risk of spreading disease. It may be stating the obvious but all landing nets, unhooking mats, wiegh slings,or any other items that come in contact with fish should be thoroughly dried out ( in direct sunlight ) if possible, before your next trip. You should always use dipping tanks if provided by fisheries or disinfect them yourself. I think fishing tackle shops should also make anglers aware of the risks and how to combat them. Nobody wants to see waters closed and dead fish. Hope this information helps and we can see some of best waters reopened again shortly.
