I guess match fishing is like any competitive sport you do it in the first place because you enjoy it but once you get to a competitive level it's not always enjoyable especially if your losing...also like any other sport to be really good sacrifices have to be made

Just from a personal point .I know my results on the social matches arnt breaking no records but I enjoy them more than the competitive opens and team matches ..I've had my fair share of success in team events and individual events ..fished for 2 division 1 sides but I fish to enjoy now whether its a knock up or a days pleasure on river ..when I no longer get enjoyment I'll call it a day ..

That's why I prefer the Forum Social matches these days to open/ club matches. No pressure at all, fishing against the venue and the fish rather than my fellow matchmen/ anglers. It probabaly also goes a long way to exxplain why i haven't had the inclination to fish a match since April, just rather go fishing, if i feel like it
