Has anyone got any experience of fishing here? I'm off on holiday in March and fancy some fishing time. Either sea or river, any advice?

Only been once, back in '93 I thnk it was.
Went on a small charter boat out of Banjul. Fished mainly around the creeks and mangroves, catching small barracudas, red snappers etc.
Was great fun, and not expensive. Even the (now) wife enjoyed it and caught plenty. Dont know how much its changed over 22 years tho........

Well I didn't end up going last year, had to cancel for various reasons. Good news is I'm going next week! Hoping to get a day in fishing The Gambia river from a boat, from what I've read there's plenty of lady fish, red snapper, butterfish and barracuda. May try a spot of lure fishing for the barracuda, I imagine they put up quite a s ! Anyway, it's forecast 36 degrees and the beers will be cold. Much as I love freezing my knackers off on the river Dearne it will make a welcome change.
