I should have thought of this before, but last Friday I had the rear window of my car smashed in, and a holdall containing 3 rods and reels nicked. This was at an East Yorkshire fishery which I'm not going to name, because it's a nice place, well looked after, and the owner doesn't deserve adverse publicity.
So if you are offered one of these items cheap down the pub, or see them at a carboot sale ...
Daiwa Connoisseur Z 13' Match rod (circa 1990)
Drennan Tench Float 12'6" or 12'9"
PI Carbonactive Sentient 11'6" Feeder
Daiwa TDR 2508 reel
Daiwa TDR 3012 reel
Daiwa S3000ia reel
PI extending feeder arm
Maxima line for three reels
3 extra tips for feeder rod 0.5oz 0.75oz, 4oz
PI Hardcase twin made-up rod holdall
The Conny Z rod has had the butt ring replaced, and the whipping is slightly redder than the rest of the whippings. The Daiwa S3000ia (Saltwater) is quite rare, only a few were brought in, about 2000.
Obviously, as they were all set up, there are no rod bags, and I have the spare spools at home.
And a heads up - don't let your precious tackle out of your sight, even for 10 minutes.

the one thing i cant stand is thief's especially when its hard earned money that's paid for the stolen items , they never seem to pinch off each other though do they, feel sorry for you pal hope you find out who did it however unlikely it sounds at the moment, also very nice of you not to have named venue , personally i would have though incase somebody seen anything.

Absolutely gutted for you, I don't think naming the place would have a negative impact on the fishery. I do think it will make people more aware though. If the owner doesn't want you to mention the place then fine but I think others are likely to fish it then they have a right to know if they are in potential danger.

That's a fair point about others having a right to know, Andy. It was at Lamwath near Aldbrough. I was fishing the main lake, so the car was completely out of sight. And because of the big grassy embankment and the row of trees, when the alarm went off it sounded so distant that I assumed it was somewhere on the caravan camp.
