Very interesting; used to barrack for Castleford when I lived there, then Bradford at Odsal. In my day, Featherstone, Wakefield Trinity and Cass were in the top 5, then came St Helens and or Warrington, or Workington. But that was over 60 years ago. Still like to see the UK rugby league. Good to see a few Australians and kiwis playing for UK clubs.
Cheers, Bobj.

Bob, was on holiday in Cyprus last year. Met an ex RL player - Alan Dickinson. Played for Cas & Trinity in the late 70's and early 80's. What a brilliant bloke, used to spend a few hours with him at the pool bar of an afternoon. He likes his brandy & St Pantilemon wine! As for Rugby, hate to say it but the Aussies have the best & most intensive game(s) in the world. The annual State of Origin series is way ahead of anything else in sport. Can't believe Sky Sports don't show this over here anymore. They have gone all politically correct and show naff womens sport instead!! G'day cobber.

Love the interstate rivalry of State of Origin. It always receives top tv ratings and I do believe it is beamed to 33 countries. Pity you blokes miss out on seeing it. Last night's news item says that Sam Burgess is leaving R L to play rah rah... One very exciting player and I will be sad to see him leave the Rabbitohs. Cheers, Bobj.

Anyone can beat the 8 boofheads...Dunno why the Australian team picks 15 players when the boofheads don't pass to the backs. Now, League...I think the Poms need a few play makers rather than trying to bulldoze through the centre all the time, like that 6' 7" player who had 'dropsy' all the time. I see Kevin Sinfield is due to skipper the England team to Australia this year. One very good player but no one to run off him. Cheers, Bobj.

Not too sure England need Burgess - but it's obvious he will be fast tracked ready for the world cup. But from his point of view England Rugby League will never get anywhere near the Australian national team so he ain't gonna see success in international RL.

The Rugby League Challenge Cup should be a good 'un, Sydney Roosters against Wigan. I will be watching. Mattie Bowen is an exciting player to watch, Wigan have a good fullback.
Cheers, Bobj.

A good game and a good win for the Roosters...36-14 is a bit of a thrashing...Sadly, Wigan's fullback didn't play all that well.

Didn't give Wigan much of chance for this one Bob. They are not the same since Pat Richards and Sam Tomkins quit at the end of last season. I think the Roosters would still have edged it, but it would have been a bit more competitive if those two were still in the side.

St. George Illawarra, mate. Sadly their coach has been offered an extention to his coaching contract. He took St George from the top of the ladder to the bottom in 2 seasons...

Hi Martin, Thanks mate, I spotted this last year - but unfortunately cannot access it unless you pay another subscription, Premier Sports isn't part of the Sky package. I already pay nigh on £90 per month for Sky TV and Broadband & get grief of the missus. Although I love the Origin I daren't shell any more money out. I tend to watch the games when they get uploaded on to Youtube. Don't get the full matches usually but you do get to watch a good chunk of the games. I hope that Sky do a deal with the NRL to get these games back. Also would like to see the BBC get a highlights package - they are missing a trick not showing these matches.
