Got a free weekend, so I'm heading over to the coast this weekend.
Anyone catching at the moment? Think we'll probably buy some lug, and try the wall at brid.

it has'nt been fishing very well anywhere on the east coast mate, but for comfort in these high winds, i should go for brid wall, or better still, wait till the winds die down a bit. ps. theres some northerlies forcast, it should fish after them.

Plenty of whiting and cod around from the usual marks, even in the river if you know where to go, I can't say were exactly as the lads in pub will give me a going over but ;D The marks at Attick (above Hornsea), I think its the 4th groyne along at Hornsea sea front, going North past the chip shop (Sullivans) at the end of the prom on the north end, East Newton was a bit slow on Sunday. Hilston is consistantly chucking up cod, especially after a rough sea. Mappleton, not sure as nobody has been down there but i know three of the lads will be there at weekend. Oops, i shouldn't have said that. ;D

Cheers, I'd prefer to leave it till it dies down a bit, but this looks like the only free weekend for a while, and i've yet to go sea fishing this winter. We wil probably head over saturday morning, buy some lug and see how we go, Mappleton was probably where we'd end up anyway

Looks like the weather is turning for the East coast early next week. Should be some good catches for the very brave.

Last saturday there was a 5lb cod caught at Mappleton, it was apparently his first ever cod, so he was chuffed. We didn't do anything really though, justa few whiting and dabs - only 2 whiting big enough for the pot.
