As we live longer many of us become less mobile. Is there anything in the thought that on commercial fisheries the owners could be made to provide disabled access and a percentage of pegs suitable for the disabled wherever practical?

Service providers have a duty to make 'reasonable adjustments' towards access for all under the Equality Act 2010. What is 'reasonable' can depend upon factors such as steepness of bank, distance from car parking, and cost. Where we can, we encourage people to include disabled provision at fisheries. We have helped a number of angling clubs include or improve ‘access for all’ at their fisheries in recent years, through rod licence project funding. Please get in touch with us directly if you would like more information about how to apply for this.
