It's on Mattersey Road, so if you're going from Aston I would go the way I went to Ranskill today, head to Todwick Crossroads, turn left and follow the B6463 all the way to Oldcoates, turn left at end and then right at Island towards Blyth, turn right and then immediate left in Blyth, at the sharp right bend turn left onto B6045, follow that to Ranskill Crossroads and turn left then immediate right (Mattersey Road) go through Ranskill and maybe a mile or 2 down keep an eye on the right-hand side, if you see the big gates to the house you've gone a bit too far.
cheers lads.I know where lodge farm is so i think i will try that way. Do you know how it is fishing.I've been told there is plenty of bream in it.Can you get them with the pole or do i need to be on the feeder?
I have fished Clearwater lake many times and rate it highly. It is well stocked with most species and there are always pegs left for pleasure anglers should a match being booked. You can park under the many birch trees close to the pegs thus keeping it shaded in sunny days. The pegs of generous size and are metal checker plate supported over the water by scaffolding poles.
I found clearwater today. Thanks lads for the directions. It was very windy and i'm glad i was'nt fishing really. There were about a dozen fishing some specimen lads with rods on pods.and some others fishing the pole,I saw a couple land a fish both looked good fish.Don't know what they were.It looks a nice venue but quite a featureless place with hardly any maginal features and no islands or lilly pads to fish to.But i will give it a go in two weeks and let you know how we go on.
