This is a superb early season area, for all sorts of fish. But the best way to fish this is by travelling light. Start taking all the usual gear, and you will end up lathered in sweat and covered in midges. Try taking two rods, a landing net, and a couple of rod rests. Any other gear,(reels etc), plus food, bait, and a flask, all go in a rucksack. If you take a Poncho type groundsheet it can double as an unhooking mat, and a seat, as well as a waterproof, if you dont want to carry a chair. Fishing as light as this, it is easy to travel to your swim, and then move on, when or if, the fish show in another area. Good luck BOF
Forget all the flash gear, it's a good sharp hook that matters.
