Hi psx3012,let me know how you get on as I have got next week (15th March) off work and am thinking of having a day or two at weeton and toms pond. I fished it this time last year and had some really nice Ide and Mirror carp out.Fished on far side up to island pegs 12-18 up to island, feeding hemp and micro pellet with a small 4mm expander on the hook.I love it there because through the week you pretty much have it to yourself.

i like toms pond but i think it is more of a summer venue. i havnt fished weeton for ages so i'm looking forward to it as last time i went i had about 20 carp and tench ranging between 4 and 9 lb. its been a while since i was last there so i cant remember how far out it is to the island for the pole?

arrived at weeton at 7 this morning, far side covered in thin ice the rest was clear. decided not to bother fishinf it as it looked in terrible condition. some of the wooded platform pegs had collapsed, the features had all been cut away and it just generally looked like it had gone to the dogs. it may be fishing really well but i'd rather fish somewhere that is well looked after. if anyone does fish it let me know how you got on and what you think to the condition of it.

went to toms and blanked, its a hard fishery but if your on the fish then your in for a good day, maggot seems to be the best bait to use on light tackle. have a look on the west yorks threads.
